Information for those not present at the 7th November meeting. At the start of November, Phil Gidley and Terry Holmes mutually agreed that they no longer wished to continue running the club. Although they still enjoyed the general running of the club (plus the racing of course), they agreed that supervising the setting up and clearing away of the carpet and track had become troublesome due to lack of help, and that the club had become a chore rather than a hobby. They agreed that the November 7th meeting would be the final meeting of the Sidcup Radio Car Club. At this meeting, those present expressed both surprise and sorrow at the demise of the club, and asked if there was any way this decision could be reversed. During discussions that followed, the following action plan was drawn up. i) Lists of those able to help with the setting up and clearing away of the track were compiled (see below). ii) The committee would be strengthened with additional members to improve the running of the club (details to follow). iii) Possibility of introducing increased race fees for those who do not assist with setting up / clearing away of track (to be discussed) iv) Three volunteers came forward offering to assist with race control, providing rotation and cover as necessary. Any other suggestions gratefully received.
